The Genesis And Journey

Astral had a humble beginning in year 1991 by Dr. Dushyant R. Patel at Vadodara, as a startup manufacturer of import substitution product, Sterile Amoxicillin Sodium - using indigenous technology developed by in house research. Subsequently by facility upgrade with high tech equipment and infrastructure, the company forward integrated into the production of sterile antibiotic powder formulations and thereby established its presence in the pharma sector as one of the state-of-the-art, independent and dedicated facility to manufacture injectable formulations for vide range of Cephalosporin and Penicillin group of products.

Astral progressively consolidated its human resource, Quality Systems and planning infrastructure to evolve as a comprehensive CDMO to multinational pharmaceutical companies for their specialized products of Cephalosporin and Semi Synthetic Penicillin Range, for domestic as well as export segments.

Over the years Astral carved its niche as a preferred CDMO with its core competence in the segment of Sterile Antibiotic Injectable formulations and explored global opportunities to expand its portfolio of customers and market segments for sterile antibiotic injectable formulations on the strength of its unique manufacturing facilities, quality systems, and trained human resource, leading to build partnerships with some of the prominent organizations of regulated market including USA .

During September 2012, Astral – a partnership firm in name of Astral Pharmaceutical Industries till September 2012, was rechristened as Astral SteriTech Private Limited. The change in name was envisaged to emphasize on the core competence and niche activities of the firm – sterile manufacturing with state-of-the-art technology orientation.

In 2021, Astral SteriTech was acquired by Centrient Pharmaceuticals, the global business-to-business industry leader in beta-lactam antibiotics.
